One thing Ken is Ive Batchelor does show up in Booth's records in the 1st La Cav., Co. I. in 1864. I guess he was about 18. He is listed as "Joe" Batchelor and the word "Ive" was clearly misread by the trasncriber in the early 1900s for the Confederate Military Service Records. I mean, the letter "J" as in "Co. J" was so often confused with the letter "I" in the military that the letter "J" was completely outlawed, so to speak. As you know, there was never a company "J".
The extremely rare name of "Ive" was misread as "Joe".
