Harper, 5th Sergeant, age 24, Company B, 16th Regiment Mississippi Volunteers, enlisted May 29, 1861 at Corinth for 12 months, resigned June 29, reduced to ranks, sent to Richmond hospital October 15, 1861, died June 15, 1862 at Charlottsville from the effects of his wound received June 8 at the Battle of Cross Keys, born in Pike/Sampson County, Miss., description: 5' 7", fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, occupation - Physician, survived by brother Labon B. Harbor, no dependents
