He was born December 25, 1826 in Waynesboro, Mississippi and died April 6, 1900 in Waynesboro, Mississippi.

He enlisted April 7, 1861 and served as a private in company C of the 13th Mississippi Infantry and was discharged April 9, 1865.

He is buried in Clear Creek Cemetery in Wayne County, Mississippi.
