His records are confusing, requiring more research. Swett's artillery were formed with men from Warren county, Miss. and contained Alabamians.

W. H. Hall, Private, Capt. C. Swett's Company (Warren Light Artillery), enlisted April 16, 1862, transferred from 27th Alabama Regiment, dropped from the rolls by order of Gen'l. Bragg, Sept/Dec[?] 20, 1862, no further records

Captain Charles Swett commanded the Warren Light Artillery, from Vicksburg, MS; and at Chickamauga, served as St. John Liddell’s divisional artillery chief. His ‘battalion’ consists of only two batteries – 8 guns – his own and that of William Fowler’s Alabamians
