The 81 men listed below are the men listed on the original muster-in roll of Captain William W. Wier's company of volunteers called the McLain Rifles, dated March 8, 1862, Enterprise, Mississippi. This company would become Company B, 37th Mississippi Infantry Regiment. The muster-in roll listed name, rank, and age (except for 2 individuals). The names are spelled (or misspelled) as they appear on the roll. Names in parenthesis are other spellings encountered in the CMSRs. The following comment also appeared on the roll:

"This company desires to be placed in connection with other companies from this Clarke County and from adjacent counties, forming an East Mississippi Regiment."

The average of the ages listed is 27.8 years. The CSMRs for these 81 individuals (which can be ordered from the link at the top of this page) shows that 17 of these men died (21%) and only 13 (16%) of them were present at the surrender in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the end of the war.
