Wm R Moore is shown as enlisting at Enterprise on 1 Sep 1863. A muster roll dated 30 Jun 1864 shows that he was promoted from 1st Corporal to 4th Sergeant of Captain W. O. Weathersby's Company (Co. B), 14th Confederate Cavalry* on 20 Apr 1864, but that at the time of the muster roll he was absent - sick in hospital. His unit was surrendered by Gen. Taylor on 4 May 1865, and he was paroled at Gainesville, Alabama, 12 May 1865. At the time he was shown as a private in Co. C, 38th, 14th, & 3rd Consolidated Regiment Mississippi Cavalry. His residence was noted as Franklin County. The only other card in his file is a receipt for clothing dated 3 Aug 1864.

*This company had previously been Co. B, Garland's Battalion Mississippi Cavalry.
