What a great article! Can you send me an e mail at sijepuis@bellsouth.net ?
I just found out about Kilpatrick on our last day when we visited Corinth a couple of years ago. When I came back I was going to look first at the Oak Home to see if there was a painting or something hanging there or see if the newspaper had issues on microfilm from the time he was alive. I did manage to find his impressive family plot at the city cemetery right before we got in the car to come home.
I had an ancestor in the 2nd Texas at Shiloh which prompted the trip. You can read about him here: http://www.electricscotland.com/webclans/minibios/b/bell_margaret.htm
Kilpatrick is a Scots origin name of Clan Colquhoun (Calhoun in the States and my middle name).
