Any chance this H. H. Garrett is kin to Major G. W. Garrett who took over for J. M. Wells (On the retreat the
first section under Lieutenant J. M. Wells was engaged in the
fight at Coffeeville. No casualties in the company. ) in late 1864? J.M. Wells was my husband's great-great grand and we are always looking for more information as to how he served, where, and with whom. Major G.W. Garrett spoke at Well's funeral. BTW what does that mean "first section"....as Wells commanded the Blackland Gideonites Co. F 23 Infantry? Thanks for your help!
