Shows, Private, Company C, 7th Battalion Mississippi Vols., enlisted May 12, 1862 at Quitniam, Miss. for 3 years, present at the August 31, 1862 muster, subsequently reported absent sick, sent to hospital, last paid October 31, 1862, recorded on the October 31, 1863 muster roll as Died, no further records

Note, his name does not appear on the list of this who died during the Vicksburg campaign and buried in the Vicksburg Cedar Hill Cemetery. Although not all those who died during this period were identified and buried in the cemetery

There are no Company Muster rolls in the records for the period March through June 29, 1863.
