Dear virgil
Lots of confusion about Milldale, Snyder's Mill, Drumgoole's Bluff Snyder's Bluff and Haynes Bluff and I am reasonably sure many other names.
They are all close together (within Two - Three - Four Miles.)
Even the Official Records have them all messed up.

I am failrly knowledable about the area and am going to try to put out some information on these places.

Your Letters

I would suggest Snyders Mill was one of the Mills at Milldale.
It almost had to be becuase there were no other mills in the area.
Before the Civil War this was a booming little village.
A Methodist Chruch and School,
U S Post Office.
Voting Precinct.
and several Mills, Saw Mill, Planning Mill, Flour and Corn Mill and what ever.
Milldale Creek had cut down to the Bed Rock inthis area, (Unusual in this area.)
When theYankees left after Reconstruction in 1876, it was all gone.
The Rail Road arrived in the area in the 1880s, the town rebuilt and moved to the Rail Road.
Named "Redwood" in honor of one Thomas Redwood who was a resident of Milldale.
About one mile between the two sites.

The Letter you have that mentions the town beginning with an S (I cannot find it at the moment.) I would think this would be Sarataria which was / is a village up the Yazoo River about Fifteen miles. Lots of activitiy going on there also.
