Re: Virgil Milldale - Snyders Bluff

Yes you are correct'
The Modern village is named Redwood.
It is a country community, Post Office Grammar School, Methodist Chruch and in the distant past had a Rail Road Depot.
Redwood is located on United States Highway #61 at the Intersection of Oak Ridge Road
The Metodist Chruch is on Oak Ridge Road but a very short distantce from U S Highway # 61.
South Side.
Drumgould, spelled several different ways is the big hill dirrectly behind the Church.
The COuntry is as the Yankees say very Steep and Broken
This entir area is very, very, very steep and broken.
The Drumgould Cemetery is up the hill side a ways.
On Top of the Hill is the Methodist Church Cemetery established in about 1880 and stopped being used in about 1920.

I always throught they were the same Cemetery, but am probalby wrong

The Original SIte of Milldale was One Mile to One and One - Hallf Miles Eastward on Oak Ridge Road.
