I have a Confederate surgeon, Amzi Martin, 9th Battalion Tennessee Cavalry captured Oct.6,1863 at a Fort Adams, Louisiana. I did find a Fort Adams established around 1798 on the east side of the river in Wilkinson Co., Mississippi. County seat Woodville. My question is what was going on here around this time? The 9th. Battalion with Logan's Brigade was in the general area until transferred to the Army of Tennessee in March of 64 and the Mississippi near Woodville was a crossing point after Vicksburg went down earlier in July 63.
