Jim, at the Historical Data Systems, Inc., civilwardata.com site, you will find a roster of some 224 men from the Consolidated 8th Mississippi Infantry Battalion. I copy for your information the first in your list.

Re your reference to the National Archives, my experience has been that Compiled Service Records for Confederate units over the last year of the war are quite sparse, and almost nonexistent for 1865. Reason seems to be they never were received in Richmond due to Yankees blocking the mail routes.
