Believe you're probably correct.

Prior to the town of Waterloo, Alabama it had been called the "Landing" because of the commerce of the vessels and right across the water was Eastport, Mississippi.

Have not heard back from Mr. Howell but he had just returned home from an engagement at Corinth and probably very busy.

I had met you at the Tennessee Archives many years ago and keep up the good work on the flags.
