A. Hoy buried in Vicksburg; lost grave marker

Buried at the Confederate cemetery in Vicksburg is A. Hoy. His grave marker was seen and recorded as recently as 1985. It had his name and death date (24 Dec 1862) on it. Nothing else.

We *think* this man is from Louisiana because most of the men buried with him were. However, other soldiers are present, these from Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee.

I cannot find hide nor hair of this A. Hoy in the records. I've searched fold3, funeral home records, various books...

This is from Booth and **may** be our A. Hoy. But I need verification from another source(s)....
Hoy, Alex, Pvt. Co. F, 28th (Thomas') La. Inf. Roll to Aug. 31, 1862 (only Roll on file), En. April 4, 1862, New Orleans, La. Deserted at Camp Moore, La., _ 15, 1862.

No month in the deserted date was recorded.

I know a lot of men from Camp Moore were sent to Vicksburg and Jackson.

Alex Hoy's one card from his CSR at https://www.fold3.com/image/20/81589928 echoes Booth, above.

I have considered the possibility that this burial wasn't a soldier, but I doubt that.

I would really like to identify this Confederate soldier, A. Hoy. He should have a marker and not be forgotten if we can help it.

Thanks in advance.
