Greetings, all, from Southern California...

I just discovered that an ancestor, Pvt. John J. Underwood enlisted in Co. A of the 1st Mississippi (King's) Regiment on Feb 16, 1863 at the ripe old age of 47. Starting to research the unit, doesn't look like there's really a whole lot out there. Any info would be appreciated.
