I'm looking for more information on a Chief Matron nurse at the Hospital. She served at the Hospital drawing pay from Nov. 1, 1863 until Jan. 22, 1864. She was also a teacher in the Macon, Miss area. Her brother William Rice Poindexter and a few others ran an Academy in Macon, her brother died in 1870. she moved in with relatives at Des Arc. Arkansas before 1880. Her name was M. M. Poindexter, but information on her may also be found under these three names M. D., Milred, and just M. Poindexter.
