Seaborne Herring. Moved to Arkansas after the war. I have his furlough. Saved it from being dumped with county records. Went in to bell,towers where papers were abundant and covered in pigeon ...you know what, and I asked what’s going to happen to all this and they said the dump. Well I said can I take something and they said sure...so I did, along with relatives pension and probate and war records that I also found. Because of this lack of respect for records I got a 4 person group together and we started a Saline County History Society that has saved it all and it is a wonderful collection of records. And I know where Herring is buried and we place a flag on his grave.
