I agree that this record is the most probable for this soldier. He was definitely living in Mississippi during this time period, and children born in Mississippi. No other csa military record seems to match him, and this is the best of the possibilities that I see at this time. At his age, he could have served as a Sgt. . I wish he had been promoted to officer status.
