Thank you I would very much like to see that. I have not been able to find much on him. My email is ingatef@bellsouth.net. Frederick Ingate died before my father was born. Most of what I know about him came from my own father, and the article in The Civil War Times. I know that he played the flute and became rather heavy set latter in life. He had fought in a number of duels both in Europe and the US. He had also been a mercenary in eastern Europe. That CWT article says he wrote to his commanding officer that he had shot a man "...but not dangerously." Sounds like someone has shot his share of men. He never became a US citizen. I have a few nice Persian rugs from his Mobile house, and an oil portrait of his mother, who's name I can't spell, but will look it up if you would like. It's something like Aidreanna Mavrockalue. Very hard to find out much about his mother's family, however I did learn from a man from the Greek island where he was born that her family came from Crete in the 1500s to escape a revolt against the Turks.

Thank you for offering his service record,

Fred J. Ingate
