Dixie Land Battle Hymn

While going thru family papers, I've found a 4 page printed copy of this song. Each page is 11" x 14" folded with a cover page, 2 inter pages and a blank back. It appears to have been for use at Veterans Reunions and such. The decorative cover shows a dedication "To Veterans of CSA in Memory and Love of Their Children", a picture of a cotton blossom, a Confederate River Boat and a photo of a soldier, I believe to be WM. H. Hartwell of Water Valley, MS. Price was 40 cents.

The 2 inter pages have the full arrangement of 8 verse song with words and music. Words are by Gen. Albert Pike, melody by Daniel Emmet and arrangement and copyright by William H. Hartwell, Co. D 16th Miss Reg't.

There is no date of the printing by Armstong Co. of Philadelphia, PA but I would guess, from the yellowing of the paper, 1880 to 1900 or so.

Two questions: What do we know of WM. H. Hartwell of the 16th Miss and second, is there a museum in Jackson or Vicksburg or any descendants of WH. Hartwell that would like to have this item?

Tks, Ed
