You'll find reference to the 64th NC in TO DIE IN CHICAGO by George Levy. (page 294) Much of the 64th were imprisoned at Camp Douglas, in Chicago. Many took the oath and were transfered to "Loyal Row". They petitioned Washington for a pardon claiming loyalty to the Union. Pardon denied they were afforded a better life style than other prisoners.
