City Point National Cemetery Burials

City Point National Cemetery in Hopewell, Virginia contains a Confederate headstone for:

Private H. A. DAVIS, Company D, 12th North Carolina Infantry who died April 24, 1864.

Private T. Luby, Company unk, 56th North Carolina Infantry who died sometime in 1864.

City Point was not occupied by the Federals until May 5, 1864 when General Benjamin Butler launched his Bermuda Hundred Campaign. The temporary burial ground associated with the huge Federal Depot General Hospital at City Point in 1864/1865 was designated City Point National Cemetery in 1866. Remains found after the war at nearby battlesites and in local church yards were removed to CPNC.

I have reason to believe that Private DAVIS was a prisoner of war who had been delivered to Confederate authorites at City Point in April 1864 and who died at City Point before he could be transported by rail to a Confederate hospital at Petersburg or Richmond. This may or may not be the case with Private LUBY. Does anyone have the CMSR for these men which would confirm their prison and release records and date and place of death?
