Re: Do You know These Men or are You ?

Greensboro, Georgia, is located about 70 miles east of Atlanta, on the line of the Georgia Railroad between Atlanta and Augusta. There were Confederate hospitals established at various points along the railway, and consequently there are Confederate cemeteries (or Confederate sections) associated with these hospitals along the way. There is a Confederate section in the Greensboro City Cemetery, well tended. Unfortunately, all of the graves in it are listed as unknowns. I strongly suspect that your ancestor is probably buried there. I haven't visited the cemetery in 6-8 years, but I recall that there are perhaps 25 graves in the Confederate section, all in one long rowI do not know how many Confederate hospitals were in Greensboro, and where they were. Perhaps a posting on the Georgia board might get results. I also suspect that the local UDC or SCV chapter might be able to help you with that question.
