Date of death is stated as June 1, 1864.

The message board can provide copies of all twenty-one documents in Lieut. Campbell's military service file. This includes his name on a regimental roll of honor commissioned by the North Carolina state legislature. You will note advertisement for this service at the top of the page. Campbell's unit is Co. "B", 27th North Carolina Regiment, the "Guilford Grays".
