Re: 27th North Carolina Infantry
In Response To: 27th North Carolina Infantry ()

I have found that Charles A. Campbell was killed in Mechanicsville, Va. at Pole Green Church Virginia. My question is, he must have been involved in Cold Harbor, forgetting the dates but I believe the last of May through about June 7th.

In a statement it said that he was buried the next day, so I presume that he is questionably buried in what may now be a Military Burial site or a mass grave.

I would love to be able to find some information on this Charles A. Campbell to identify where he lived or his parents name to verify this is our Charles Campbell. Family stories always said "Mechanicsville".

Thanks for your answers and hope to read the book on the 27th before long. Keeps us posted.

Thanks
again.
