Col. Wm. B. Creasman - 29th NC - Murfreesboro

In am reseraching and writing a book on the Army of Tennessee at Murfreesboro/Stone's River. When Brigadier General James S. Rains was killed on 31 December 1861, Colonel Robert B. Vance, commanding the 29th North Carolina Infantry, assumed command of the brigade. It would seem that command of the regiment would have devolved upon Lieutenant Colonel William B. Creasman; however, I do not know that for ceratin. If anyone can confirm that Lieutenant Colonel Creasman did take command, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Any information on the regiment's participation in the battle would be most appreciated, especially from diaries, letters or newspaper articles.

Best Regards and GOD's Blessings,
L.K. Smith
