No, I’ve never seen a North Carolina Confederate soldier wearing either. In fact, I don’t recall ever seeing any Southern soldier wearing such a cap, nor can I recall ever seeing one in a collection attributed to a Southern soldier. There were a few in the northern armies, i.e., 79th New York, Gen. Arthur McArthur, but that is about it.
