The officer was William A. Curtis. He wrote very well and his accounts of the war are very vivid and exciting.
Some of his papers are at the Tennessee State Archives, you will be happy to learn, and can be ordered on microfilm.
I have some other Curtis papers - but I lost most of them and therefore don't know where they came from.
It is these papers I want to find, hopefully with your help.
