David Anderson is a very common name, so you will need to dig deeper than you would need to with a less common name. You probably will want to look for any pension records that NC may have, because that is often the only way you know whom the filing soldier's wife was. Also, you should check your local library for a volume entitled, 'North Carolina Troops', which has some biographical information on each of the men listed. Of course, you would want to get the Combined Service Records for your David Anderson.
