James P. Lance, Private Company H 25th NC Infantry died in the General Hospital 22 of Disease (vulums sclopticum) 14 Oct 1862.

Someone by the name of M.B. Lance made a claim to the CSA on his behalf on 28 May 1863 (prob. his father).

He was a 22 year old 1 year enlistment Volunteer from Henderson County.

He was at Camp Lee as early as 15 July 1861.
