J. W. Craver was a private in Co. A, 57th Reg't North Carolina Infantry. He enlisted July 4, 1862 in Davidson County. He was wounded December 13th 1862 near Fredericksburg, Virginia, and died December 14th 1862. There is a lot of information in his service records, including a physical description of Pvt. Craver.
