3rd NC Cavalry (41st Regiment) - A Heritage Project was started a little more than a year ago, and currently there are over 100 descendents who have located our site at this URL http://www.myfamily.com/group/nc3rdcavalry and have become members. Some have uploaded photos of their ancestors. Joshua B. Hill, the Orderly Sgt. who authored the 41st N.C. History in Clark's Regiment of NCT, descendent has frequently visited and posted letters of his ancestor. Some of the descendents of the Captains of various Companies have visited with unique information about their ancestors and with photos.
This is a Heritage Research Site, with a Genalogical Emphasis gathering as many descendents as we can locate - All becoming North Carolina Cousins of the great 3rd NC Cavalry. There are more than 600 photos on the site that are of locations of engagements, actions, and troops. The Discussions, Photos, Files, and Video can be participated with by the descendents, all of whom have freedom to actively participate in the upload process. I am excited about what we have accomplished, and I am thrilled with the possibilities of where we are going with the continual addition of new material including unique letters and ancestors photos. In my opinion, the descendents have made a great contribution to North Carolina History, and We are at the Beginning of this Journey.
