Re: Siege of Atlanta Regiment and Brigade Location

Michael,

Thank you for the information.

I have run into the same situation with little or no information during the Atlanta campaign in general but even less information during the actual siege. I have discovered that I am breaking some new ground in regards to mapping and talking about combat along this portion of the line. To tell the story of the 39th Georgia I am having to expand my focus somewhat.

I have started to putting entrenchments to a topography map and as more information can be confirmed I will put brigades in position. I am getting a feel of where they were at but right now I have snap shots in time and want more information before I make any assessments. One of the fortunate things is that lots of photographs were made of this part of the line.

I look forward to you book. There is not much written on regiments in Stevenson's Division and I am sure it will a great addition to the historiography of the Army of Tennessee.

Respectfully,
