Jesse Morris, age 32, resident of Wilson County, Private, Company E, 2nd Regiment North Carolina Cavalry (19th State Troops), enlisted June 7, 1861 at Wilson by J. H. Adams for the duration of the war, recorded on the March & April, 1863 as absent on detail, listed as absent, on sick furlough on the May & June, 1863 muster roll remaining so through October, admitted to the Receiving and Wayside Hospital, General Hospital No. 9, Richmond, Virginia, June 6, 1864 transferred to Winder Hospital June 7, paroled at Federal Provost Marshall's Office, Goldsboro, N. C., n.d., 1865, no further records
