In 1866 or 1867, many of the Union dead were collected from around eastern NC and reintered at New Bern National Cemetery. Unfortunately, most from Plymouth that were reburied in New Bern were listed as unknowns. Your ancestor was not among the named soldiers from Plymouth reburied at New Bern but may have been one of the unknowns.
