The Henry Medlin I have researched in the past was seventeen years old when he enlisted in 1862. He is also listed as Andrew Medlin. This throws me off as the Medlin I'm searching for was named Erastus Henry Medlin. His two brothers served in company G of the 47th NC Infantry, as did a Phelps cousin. I doubt that this Andrew/Henry Medlin is Erastus Henry Medlin that I'm searching for.

A search here will reveal several Medlin men with either a first or middle initial of "H" (Henry ?):
