Thomas M b 1837 and Elbert b 1829 enlisted 5-29-61 in the 1st NC Cav Co. A, they are brothers. Thomas died of Typhoid fever 3-5-62, Elbert was wounded at Brandy Station and was promoted Corporal 11-1-63 and was present thru 12-64. Their is a Jesse T b 1845 listed with the family 12 Children but the 21C regiment was formed in Surry Co. The records say residence of Johnson Co Tn, native of Ashe Co NC. Parents names Jesse died 1864 buried Johnson Co Tn. and Mary Polly Hodges.
