The only flag associated with the 46th NC Inf at
the NC St. Museum was returned to that facility
by the US War Dept. in 1905.
I found no one named Saunders donating anything
flag-related in the 1930's or any other time.
If your GG uncle really did so, it would be big news
and possibly identify an otherwise unidentified flag.
