Re: Capt. Bryan W. Cobb, 2nd N.C. Inf.

Bryan W. Cobb originally enlisted in the 27th NC regiment, but the regiment list has him as Bryant. He was of the first group to leave Goldsboro, NC to reach Ft. Macon in Apirl 1861. He never married. He had three brothers in the Confederate Army. They are Jonn Probert Cobb who became a colonel, W.H.H. Cobb who was a surgeon (the youngest brother), and Needham Bryan Cobb who was a chaplin in the 14th NC. W.H.H. Cobb and John P. Cobb also left on the train with the Goldsboro Rifles to go to Ft. Macon. I have some more info. and photos. Their family was from Everittsville in Wayne County, NC. Now none existant. Everittsville was close to Goldsboro, it was a rich farming community. I have a photo of their home also. It was called Mt. Auburn. If you log on to the wayne county, nc genweb page there is a story online about the Cobb family titled 'To My Children". It was written by there sister. I live in Goldsboro if you need any photos from Willowdale.
