There was also a three day fight at Kinston at the end of the war on March 8-10, 1865. This was a blocking action by the Confederates against Federal troops from Schofield's command. Contact the Bentonville Battleground State Historical Site and talk to the site manager there. He lives on the Kinston 1865 battlefield site.
