21st North Carolina

Looking for additional information on these ancestors of mine.

2 sets of brothers, distant cousins of mine, fought in the 21st North Carolina Infantry Regiment. Each set of brothers were 2nd cousins of the other.
1st set:
- James E. Bennett - Company F 21st North Carolina; 25 Jul ’62; POW Fredericksburg 3 May 1863, POW Ft. Delaware, Delaware, survived;
- Jerry W. Bennett - Company F 21st North Carolina Infantry; 25 Jul ’62; KIA Gettysburg 2 Jul 1863;
- John H. Bennett - Company F 21st North Carolina Infantry; captured near Harpers Ferry, POW Elmira, NY; died of disease June 1, 1865;
- Mereda Martin Bennett - Compay F 21st North Carolina Infantry; died of disease (typhoid fever) Charlottesville, VA January 10, 1863;
2nd set:
- Elihu Bennett - Company G 21st North Carolina; captured North Anna River, VA, May 1864; POW, survived;
- James A. Bennett - Company G 21st North Carolina; wounded twice; survived;
- William Bennett - Company G 21st North Carolina; died of disease (typhoid fever) August 8, 1861;
- Reuben H. Bennett - Company H 53rd North Carolina; wounded and captured at Gettysburg; survived Elmira POW camp
