Yes, my GGrandfather, PVT Richard Bynum Vann, was captured on Sept. 30, 1864 at Fort Archer. I have read Richmond Redeemed and other accounts of the battle that day. I got to know the author of the book when I was at the Army War College in 2002 and 2003. He answered some of my questions. I would be glad to see what Lt. Col. Kennedy wrote about the events of the 16th Bn. Tom Vann
