Re: Parnells of NC and the 57th NC Inf Co A

John Tillet Parnell 1849-1921 (I was incorrect on his birth year) he married Eliza E Bailey 1849-1826. John is a member of the 1st North Carolina Volunteer Infantry Regiment Company E Spanish and American War. I have found him on the roster with his hometown (Mocksville NC)listed. The enlistment date was 1898. Yes, this makes him 50 years old.

The military pension I mentioned was noted as, 1903 Jul 21 - Invalid Application # 1502-22 Certificate # 1256981 filed in N.C. 192(1 or 2) Sep 20 Widow Eliza E. Parnell, Application # 1223718, Certificate # 955962, filed in N.C. The question again still beacons, why an NC pension application?

If there is any information, please advise
