Can I get the name of the resource you used to find Lemuel Hines military record? (8th NC Infantry, Co. B)

I have read about the July battles in SC (in fact tonight my husband and I are watching the movie "Glory"). It was right after that battle that Lemuel deserted and went home. From census records I determined that his wife, Louisa, was at home in Nags Head, NC with an infant daughter. I think he must have felt his loyalties were needed elsewhere.
