Alan,
You previously advised me re an inquiry I posted at the Alabama Civil War Message Board. I hope you can also provide info re the following inquiry: I am trying to confirm if my GG Uncle John W. Blankenship was the same J.W. Blankenship who appears on the roster of Co F 64th NC Infantry. My GG Uncle was born in the late 1840s in Madison County, NC and is thought to be buried with his wife Matilda at the Rice Cemetery in Marshall, NC. In this thread, Edward Harding refers to the book "North Carolina Troops 1861-1865 A Roster", Volume XV, Pages 137 - 168 wherein are found rosters of the Field & Staff of each company, with information on each man taken from old records, Pages 169 - 276 (F&S and Companies A - N). If you have access to the info in this book, please email me the info regarding J.W. Blankenship of Co F 64th NC Infantry. Much obliged for any information you can provide.
