I recently wrote about the battle for Washington, NC that occurred on September 6, 1862 in my book about the 55th NC. While researching I came across personal letters and of course the OR, but not much else. Other than Barrett's book on the Civil War in NC, and contemporay newspapers I haven't found anything else. Does anyone know of any other sources?
