I'm trying to locate an article on the Hampton Legion at Appomattox that appeared in a Charleston newspaper during the summer of 1883, I think it was. I originally copied it from a collection at either Duke or Chapel Hill and I have since lost the copy.

Sheridan had published an article on Appomattox that had appeared in the North American Review a few days before.

Adjutant Walsh of the Legion was so outraged at the inaccuracy of Sheridan's piece that he wrote a lengthy rebuttal that appeared in a CHarleston newspaper that I had never heard of before.

I contacted a librarian at the Caroliniana room and she told me the name of the paper (which I've forgotten) and she said it could be found at Clemson Univ.

Has anyone else seen this paper?
