The Consolidated Service Record of this man, a Private in the 14th North Carolina Infantry, shows that he was captured at Sharpsburg, Md. in September, 1862 and that he was "Killed at Fort Delaware" on October 6, 1862. Does anyone know if he was killed trying to escape or any details concerning his death.
