I've always been fascinated by the NC Mountain regiments and the running battle between men like Col. Allen and Lt. Col. Keith of the 64th and the men of the 62nd and Thomas'Legion with the likes of George W. Kirk and his 2nd and 3rd NC Mounted Infantry. What a story could be told. A lot of blood spilled by people who knew each other.
